Description

Viburnum “Dawn”
Viburnam bodnantense

In the depths of winter, what really lifts the spirits is a splash of colour.

Viburnum bodnantense ‘Dawn’ is a hardy, deciduous shrub which produces masses of richly perfumed flowers on bare stems.

In fact a viburnum adds colour throughout the year. The dark pink flowers of winter fade to white as spring approaches. In summer the shrub bears small, round, purple berries and in autumn, the green foliage turns into a vibrant autumn burst of orange and yellow.

Viburnum is a genus of about 150–175 species of shrubs native throughout the temperate Northern Hemisphere. Viburnum bodnantense ‘Dawn’ grows to a height of around 3m (10ft) with a spread of 2m (8ft). It flourishes in sun or semi shade and grows well in most moderately fertile, well-drained soils, so there is a place for a viburnum in most gardens!

Once a viburnum is established in your garden, you can easily create new plants by propagating softwood cuttings in summer

Available in 2 litre 3 litre and 5 litre pots.
