First garden visit of the year

Spring is definitely on the way. How do I know? Well, the daffodils for a start and the bushes and trees starting to burst into life, but mainly it is the steady stream of visitors starting to arrive at Garden Cottage.

The first group visit of the year was from the good folk who volunteer at Amisfield Walled Garden. Amisfield Walled Garden lies on the outskirts of Haddington in East Lothian and is one of the largest walled gardens in Scotland. We were delighted to have them visit and they were happy to be here, going by the lovely comments they left in the visitors book!

“Very informative visit, lovely informal spaces. Inspirational”
“Very impressive and huge expertise needed to create this garden. Must return.”
“I now understand the science. Excellent visit.”
“Very interesting. Lot of wonderful plants. Enjoyed my visit”
“Inspiring and food for thought”
“Would love to have a garden just like this but a bit smaller”
“Great visit, very interesting and informative. Would love to visit the space in late Spring and Summer”

If you would like to organise a visit for a group (10 -30 people), please contact sales@grahambell.org. We organise visits most Wednesday afternoons, but can arrange for groups to come at other times.

Or come on an Open Day, when we offer tours and activities for the whole family. The first Open Day of the year is on Saturday 6th May 2017 – International Permaculture Day. These are very popular events so please do book early to avoid disappointment.
