OK not exactly flaming June yet but some early summer crops coming in. Been picking purple sprouting since March. Harvested over ten kilos so far. Great steamed, in salads and stir-fry (also been known to end up in vegetable soups and curries). Rhubarb that harvests all summer long (probably variety Victoria but was here long before we arrived). Have supplies of plants in the nursery for sale! First harvest of peas- half a kilo of Kelvedon Wonder. First out door strawberries ready – both red alpines and Honeoye.
And a kilo of celery turned into cream of celery soup today.
Looking forward to what will hopefully be a great summer of produce!
